Join us for a hands-on workshop where you'll learn how to make a Swiss Bound Book with your own customised cover, perfect for use as a sketchbook, notebook or journal.
Swiss binding is a bookbinding technique where the book block is attached to the cover by gluing only the back endpaper, leaving the spine exposed or partially covered. This allows the book to lay flat and opens easily.
During the workshop you will be guided through each stage of the bookbinding process, including customising your own book cloth using heat transfer vinyl, covering and casing in. You’ll also learn about paper grain, bookbinding cloths and the different bookbinding tools used within the process.
